    • How to change the hinges in built-in fridge or freezer?
    Applies to:
    • Fridge freezer
    • Upright freezer
    • Refrigerator
    Applies to model numbers:

    ETB3700H-A, ETE5720B-A, ETB5400B-A, EBB3700H-A, ETB4600B-A, ETB3400H-A, EUM0900SA, EHE6879A-B, ETE5720AA, ETB2802J-A, ETB3400H-H, ETE4600AA, EME3700H-A, EBE4500B-G, EBB3402K-A, EBE4500B-A, EHE5224B-A, ETB2802H-A

    Resolution:

    1. Press your finger into the inside of a corner of the door seal to release some suction and make it easier to open the door soon after closing it.

    2. Wait one minute before opening the door again if it has just been closed.

    3. Avoid slamming the door

    4. Check the cleanness of the surface of the gasket.

    5. Check the drain tube inside the appliance and clean it.

Empty the compressor tray and then flow a small amount of water to in it and check the compressor tray again. The water should appear in the tray.

    6. Check the tray of the compressor if it is filled with water and the end of the tube is under the water, empty the tray.

It should be open and the end should be upper than the level of the water.

    7. Ensure that the appliance stands level.

Adjust the feet on the bottom and front and check the level with a spirit level (the front needs to be in a higher level a little bit).

    8. Check whether the hinges are damaged and replace any defective hinge parts.

    • If you wish to replace parts yourself, you can contact our Consumer Care or Electrolux Service Centre for spare parts, accessories, and care products.

    Cause:

    • Air inside a fridge or freezer “shrinks” as it gets colder. This can sometimes create suction, which makes open the door difficult. If the door is closed quickly or slammed shut, air will be forced out and it may take several minutes for the vacuum to be released, after which the door can be opened normally. Suction inside a fridge or freezer after closing the door is normal and not a product fault.
  • The fridge compressor operates continuously
    Issue:
    • The fridge compressor operates continuously
    Applies to:
    • Fridge freezer
    • Refrigerator
    • Freezer
    Applies to model numbers:

    ETB3700H-A, ETE5720B-A, ETB5400B-A, EBB3700H-A, ETB4600B-A, ETB3400H-A, EUM0900SA, EHE6879A-B, ETE5720AA, ETB2802J-A, ETB3400H-H, ETE4600AA, EME3700H-A, EBE4500B-G, EBB3402K-A, EBE4500B-A, EHE5224B-A, ETB2802H-A

    Resolution:

    1.  Set a higher temperature.

Keep your fridge temperature set at or below 4°C and your freezer set at -19°C (or -18°C, depending on your model).

    2.  Check whether the door is closed properly and avoid leaving the door open for a long time.

    3.  Let the food temperature decrease to room temperature before storage.

    4.  Check whether the ambient temperature is too high relative to the climate class on the rating plate.
Too high ambient temperature may cause insufficient cooling. The higher the ambient temperature, the longer the compressor will run.

    5.  Check that the appliance has been installed with adequate ventilation.

You can find the ventilation requirements in your user manual or installation guide.

    Cause:

    • Temperature is set
    • Many food products were put in at the same time.
    • Food products placed in the appliance were too warm.
    • The room temperature is too high.
    • The door is not closed correctly.
    • The door has been opened too frequently.

    Tip:

The compressor on a refrigerator or a freezer can run for approx. 45 minutes per hour. Electronically controlled compressors run continuously, but with changed intensity, as needed. This is normal and not a malfunction.

    Resolution:

    1. Check whether the bulb has failed and replace if necessary following the instructions in the user manual.

Certain appliances have built-in LED lighting that must be replaced by an engineer.

    2. Check whether the light switch can move freely and try cleaning it with a damp cloth (if you can see a light switch in the door opening).

    3. Close the door and open it again to switch the light back on.

A control system may switch the light off automatically if the door has been left open for a while.
