Electrolux Gas Cooker Hob

Electrolux has extended the options available to customers affected by the 6 January 2017 product recall.  These will now include either a cheque in exchange (SGD700 or SGD800 depending on product model) or a product replacement*, following customers’ feedback. A goodwill gesture of SGD100 voucher will also be given to customers as a token of our appreciation for their patience through this product recall. 

This revision is extended to all affected customers including those who we have already been in touch with since 6 January 2017. 

At Electrolux, we pride ourselves on our strong health and safety credentials. As a precautionary measure, we voluntarily extend the product recall to include the following FLEXI Glass Gas Hobs that run on town gas - EGT9038CKP and EGT8028CKP. We strongly advise customers with these models to stop using the gas hobs

Electrolux reiterates that this is not a case of product defect as the product models are certified and compliant.

Consumers who have purchased any of the six glass gas hob models, (EGT9637CKP, EGT7637EGP, EGT7637CKP, EGT7627CKP, EGT9038CKP, EGT8028CKP), which run on town gas can:

They should provide their contact details, product model and purchase information if available, and indicate their preference.  We have extended the operating hours of the Customer Service Hotline during this recall period (Monday – Sunday:  9am - 5pm). 

Customers will receive SGD700 for the EGT7637CKP, EGT7637EGP, EGT7627CKP or EGT8028CKP models, and SGD800 for the EGT9637CKP or EGT9038CKP.

Electrolux is meeting with property developers to establish the most efficient solution for consumers who have bought apartments with kitchens fitted with any of the affected product models.  Consumers can also contact Electrolux directly.

We are currently contacting customers who have registered their warranty details with us.

Consumers who have purchased the affected models - EGT9637CKP, EGT7637EGP, EGT7637CKP and EGT7627CKP that run on town gas can

with their contact details, product model as well as store of purchase. 

The model number can be found on the underside of the gas hob unit.  Should this not be accessible/easy to access, customers are advised to take pictures of their gas hobs and email them to the Electrolux Customer Care team at

Upon verification, Electrolux will arrange to remove/collect the cooker hob and provide affected customers with a full product refund by way of cheque in exchange. A goodwill gesture of SGD100 voucher will also be given as a token of our appreciation and recognition of any inconvenience including installation, temporary loss of use, etc.

Electrolux is committed to ensure the health and safety of our consumers and is concerned with the recent incidents.

Electrolux has been working closely with SPRING Singapore on the matter since April 2016.

Each of the product models - EGT9637CKP, EGT7637EGP, EGT7637CKP and EGT7627CKP that run on town gas - has been registered and approved in accordance with local laws and regulations, prior to being sold in Singapore.

Electrolux has been actively working with SPRING Singapore on various alternatives and solutions – media announcement, product retrofitting/recall, etc.

Categorically, Electrolux states that this is not a case of product defect as the product models are certified and compliant.

However, following the latest meeting with SPRING Singapore today, Electrolux shall recall the said product models.

Consumers who have purchased the affected models - EGT9637CKP, EGT7637EGP, EGT7637CKP and EGT7627CKP that run on town gas can

    or 6727 3699

with their contact details, product model as well as store of purchase. Electrolux will provide a full product refund upon collection/verification of the model. We have extended the operating hours of the Customer Service centre during this period (Monday – Sunday: 9am - 5pm).

Additional information on the refund process will be available shortly on the Electrolux website and social channels as well as via local news media.

Electrolux will also contact customers progressively who have registered their warranty details with us.

For consumers who have bought apartments with kitchens fitted with any of the product models, Electrolux is in contact with the property developers to look at product refunds for residents.

No other models including those that run on LPG/cylinder gas are affected.
